Hey true believers, been a while since I've been here, but my buddy James has laid down some killer vocals for a new "super" project I'm putting out on ProgRock Records. We aren't officially announcing this till Monday and the myspace page is thin on details till then, but I just put up 2 songs from the new album, one is with James, the other is Lana Lane. כן טוב, גם Frameshift היה עם לאברי והוא לא בדיוק היה שיחת היום בקרב מאזיני הרוק והפרוג למיניהם.

שמע, אל תבין לגמרי לא נכון, בהתחלה שקראתי את החדשות זה נשמע לי מגניב, יש סיכוי טוב שזה יהיה אלבום טוב. אבל אז חשבתי עוד קצת וזה נראה לי מסוג הפרוייקטים שהם די שוליים ואין להם קהל רחב כי זה רק אלבום כזה stand-alone, לא הרכב קבוע, לא יהיו הופעות שלו, פשוט איזה דודא שבאה לבחור שעושה אותו לעשות משהו חד פעמי כזה, ובגלל זה זה יהיה פרויקט קטן ולא נודע במיוחד. עוד אלבום שמסתובב בין המליונים האחרים בעולם. שזה קצת חבל.
טוב, סתם חפרתי.
רק רציתי לומר שאני לא מתנגד לפרוייקט

איזה חדשות , בחיי שאני כל כך מאושר ( לא יאומן כמה המוזיקה שלו יכולה להשפיע ).
אני עכשיו שומע את I Am The Point וזה נשמע אלבום מצויין .
אני מברך על כל פעם שאני שומע אלבום שקשור לג'יימס לאברי (עיינו ערך אשכול ג'יימס לאברי ) .
ותומר - לא משנה כמה המוזיקה היא מחתרתית - העיקר המוזיקה ולא הפרסום . נכון שזה מבעס שלא הרבה אנשים שמעו על הפרוייקטים המצויינים של הבחור ( וטרנט גארדנר וכל החבר'ה המוכשרים האלו) , אבל זה לא מונע ממני להעריך את הדיסק פחות , להיפך - העובדה שלא הרבה אנשים שמעו על זה רק עושה את זה מבחינתי ליותר מיוחד .
ופריימשיפט פרוייקט ענק שלא היה ולא יהיה כמותו , אחד האלבומים ( שניהם ) הכי מדהימים ששמעתי .

רק שיצא האלבום ..

TERRA INCOGNITA—Epic Fantasy novel, Epic Rock CD

Rancho Santa Margarita, California. ProgRock Records has joined forces with internationally bestselling author Kevin J. Anderson for a groundbreaking crossover novel and progressive rock project, TERRA INCOGNITA. Anderson has created an incredible fantasy universe with sailing ships, sea monsters, and the crusades. The first novel, TERRA INCOGNITA: THE EDGE OF THE WORLD, hits stores in June from Orbit Books.

Anderson says, “My work has always been heavily influenced by music, especially progressive rock -- but TERRA INCOGNITA truly takes this into new territory.” Anderson developed and expanded one of the novel's storylines to form the basis of an epic rock CD, TERRA INCOGNITA: BEYOND THE HORIZON, under the band name "Roswell Six." He and his wife, bestselling author Rebecca Moesta, wrote all the lyrics to the songs.

Accomplished keyboardist/composer Erik Norlander (ROCKET SCIENTISTS) came aboard at the beginning of the project to write the music and produce the recordings. His wife Lana Lane, the "Queen of Symphonic Rock," provides the female lead vocals. Bassist Kurt Barabas (UNDER THE SUN) and Executive Producer Shawn Gordon from ProgRock Records round out the members of "Roswell Six."

"This project checked off about half the items on my bucket list,” said Gordon. “Imagine what kind of fantasy world I feel like I'm in when I get to work with one of my favorite authors, favorite vocalists, and favorite musicians. Hearing the story come to life is really an amazing experience and I think there are going to be a lot of new crossover fans from this project."

The CD's male vocals are by James LaBrie (DREAM THEATER), Michael Sadler (ex-SAGA), and John Payne (ex-ASIA). Additional artists on the CD include David Ragsdale (KANSAS), Gary Wehrkamp (SHADOW GALLERY), Chris Quirarte (PRYMARY) and Chris Brown (GHOST CIRCUS), and Mike Alvarez on cello. Together, the creative team has sold over 45 million copies worldwide.

TERRA INCOGNITA is a synergistic project unlike anything ever seen in the publishing and music business -- an original novel and original CD from the same author. Kevin J. Anderson is currently writing the second novel in the epic trilogy, TERRA INCOGNITA: THE MAP OF ALL THINGS.” He is best known for his bestselling DUNE novels with Brian Herbert, his many Star Wars and X-Files novels, and his original epic "The Saga of Seven Suns."

THE EDGE OF THE WORLD

So many of you have been writing to ask what "Terra Incognita" is about. I've posted the cover copy below. This is an epic fantasy for those who like George RR Martin's "Song of Ice and Fire" -- a little bit of magic, a dash of the impossible, but in it's sensibilities the novel is like a historical novel in an imaginary land. I am already a third of the way finished with the draft of the second volume, THE MAP OF ALL THINGS.

It is an age of sailing ships and unexplored seas, incomplete maps with entire areas marked "terra incognita." Two joined continents, two different cultures, two opposing religions.

After generations of friction, the leaders of both lands meet to bring an end to the bloodshed. In an historic ceremony, these rulers agree to divide the world between them. The followers of each religion will have half the world to explore, colonize, and tame. There will be trade and, more importantly, there will be peace.

Sadly, this new spirit of fellowship is shortlived. A single tragic accident destroys, in minutes, the peace that took years to build. The world is once more cast into the fires of war, and this time the flames may burn until nothing remains. From the highest lord to the lowest servant, no man or women will be unchanged by the conflict.

But while war rages across both continents, a great quest will defy storms and sea serpents to venture beyond the horizon, where no maps exist -- to search for a land out of legend. מה שכן, אני דורש שיתוקנו שמות הלהקה איפה שהם מוזכרים (במיוחד בכותרת של האשכול) - זה מטעה ומסבך את החיפושים

האלבום השני ממשיך את האלבום הראשון, כן.
כמו האלבום הראשון, גם האלבום הזה הוא למעשה מן companion לספר שעליו הוא מבוסס. האלבום השני מבוסס על ספר ההמשך. יש גם ספר שלישי בדרך (אני לא יודע אם יהיה גם לו אלבום, אבל לפי איך שהדברים נראים, זה נשמע סביר).
