האמת שהבאתי את זה מהפורום של פורטנוי... הבחור אמר "ממקור אמין".
זה עדין בדיונים שם וגם שם לא הביאו קישור, למרות שנאמר שבימים הקרובים הם יודיעו אם זה אמיתי או לא.

rann Dailor finally caught on to this and reported at the Mastodon forum:

We're not breaking up. I don't know what any of us would do, we love the music that we make together too much to end it now. It's the furthest thing from anyones mind. Bill needs to get better and he's doing that, the rest of us are resting up, living our lives and looking forward to working on new music and doing that Alice and chains Deftones tour.

Our artistic well has not run dry by any means, one of our brothers just needs to get well, that's all. Thank you all so much for being so understanding, especially those of you who were looking forward to seeing us in Europe next month.

As much as we want to do those shows, we feel like the best thing for us to do is to let Bill heal up and come back full strength, as it should be. I hope to see you all very soon.

Six of the Mastodon tracks from the "Jonah Hex" score will be released on an exclusive EP on June 29th on iTunes and other digital outlets.

Mastodon was originally working with composer John Powell on the score, but due to his previously arranged involvement with two other films and lengthy reshoots for Jonah Hex, Powell had to leave the project and was replaced by composer Marco Beltrami. Beltrami took the score in a new direction musically, and the previously written material was scrapped. While Powell's version had been reported to be heavy with "vigorous shredding," Beltrami took the score in a "more restrained, subtle" direction. Mastodon was disappointed about having to start over, as according to Brent Hinds, "It was some of the best shit I've ever written in my life. Now I'm just trying to finish with as much patience as possible." The band was also facing time constraints both from the approaching release date of the film and also being on a world tour at the time. In May 2010, Mastodon announced they had about an hour's worth of material recorded for the score. Reprise Records will release the score for Jonah Hex as a six-song EP on June 29, 2010.

ברנן דיילור אומר שזה חומר די קיצוני, חלק ממנו זה שירים שנכתבו לcrack the skye אבל לקחו אותו לכיוון אחר ובגלל זה לא נכנסו לשם והפעם הם יותר מתאימים. יהיה מעניין. אני עדיין מת לראות אותם בלייב.

שיר מהאלבום החדש.
כרגע אני לא יודע מה לחשוב עליו ממש חוץ מזה שלא נפלתי בכלל, זה לא ממש הכיוון שרציתי שהם יקחו אחרי Crack The Skye, אבל אני סומך על מאסטודון שיוציאו מזה משהו טוב בשאר האלבום.

הוא ממש שונה אגב, אז תתכונן להיות מופתע ואני כלכך מקנא בך שעדיין לא שמעת אותו...
גם blood mountain אדיר מאוד אם אתה רוצה להשלים פערים של החומרים הקודמים שלהם לפני שאתה שומע את החדש.
אלבום משובח! יותר מ crack the skye אפילו לפי דעתי.

בשבועות האחרונים שמעתי את crack the skye קרוב ל-10 פעמים והוא אחד המטורפים! עם איזה אלבום כדאי להמשיך? נראה לי שאני הולך לאהוב את הלהקה הזאת...

לדעתי כדאי לעבור אותם בסדר כרונולוגי אבל אם אהבת משהו אז זה גם טוב. הם נהיו הרבה יותר נסיוניים וקשים להגדרה ככל שהזמן עובר, הראשונים שלהם אדירים אבל הם יותר קל לעכל אותם. הם פשוט אדירים.
